Excise tax is introduced on a number of tobacco products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The President’s resolution “On measures to further regulate the tobacco market” was adopted on 6 April 2020.

In accordance with the resolution, from 1 June 2020, excise tax is introduced on imported products with heated tobacco, smoking, chewing, snuff, sucking (snus) tobacco and for hookah, nicotine-free tobacco snus, nicotine-containing liquid.

In this regard, excise tax rates on excisable goods imported into Uzbekistan are supplemented by additional positions.

According to this, the amount of excise tax on a number of tobacco products has been established.

In particular, from 1 June 2020 an excise tax of US$25 will be imposed on 1 kg of smoking tobacco.
