Ex-Uzbek envoy to South Korea receives Gwanghwa order

The awarding ceremony was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan on 16 January 2014.

The Government of the Republic of Korea adopted decision to award Vitaliy Fen with Gwanghwa order for his merit in diplomatic services, the South Korean Embassy in Tashkent said.

The Embassy noted that during his 17-year work as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to South Korea, he contributed to lift relations between two nations to strategic partnership. He successfully participated in organization of 8 mutual visits and nine meetings of the heads of the states, it added.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Uzbekistan Lee Wook-heon expressed his respect to Vitaliy Fen for active diplomatic service. He added that he hopes Mr Fen will continue to contribute to development of cooperation between two states in civil status as well.

Vitaliy Fen, in his turn, expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Korea for high assessment of his work.
