EUROCEMENT group starts construction of new cement plant in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian holding EUROCEMENT group started construction of a new cement plant in Uzbekistan on October 17, 2018.
A stone was laid at the site of AKHANGARANCEMENT JSC to found a new cement plant. The volume of investments in these projects will be more than US$160 million.
The President of the EUROCEMENT group Holding, Mikhail Skorokhod, noted that the plant’s capacity will be 3 million cement per year. He added that the plant will deliver the first batch of products in mid-2020.
“This production will become the flagship of the cement industry and a powerful support for the growth of the economy of Uzbekistan,” Skorokhod said.
The enterprise will produce products using an energy-efficient dry method; a wide range of products includes high-quality cement, which will be used for the most important construction projects in Uzbekistan: power plants, road junctions, airfield pavements, residential, office and commercial buildings.
It will be the largest in Central Asia and the most modern enterprise in the CIS with full automation of production, low energy consumption and minimal environmental impact. P
The construction of the new plant was the result of agreements reached a year earlier between the EUROCEMENT group and Uzstroymaterialy JSC. The relevant documents were signed in Moscow and Tashkent in the presence of the heads of state and prime ministers of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
