Eurasian University Alliance Launched in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the international forum “Italy – Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan,” a new scientific and educational initiative was launched in Tashkent: the Eurasian University and Research Centers Alliance.

The alliance aims to strengthen collaboration in climate resilience, food security, and food technology.

The initiative focuses on expanding joint scientific research, developing innovative solutions to pressing challenges, and reinforcing regional integration in science, education, and innovation.

Agreements were signed between leading universities and research institutes in Italy and Uzbekistan, including CREA and the Department of Biology, Agriculture, and Food Sciences of the National Research Council of Uzbekistan, providing a legal and organizational framework for the alliance.

Planned activities include joint research on climate adaptation, efficient use of water and land resources, ensuring food security, and advancing food technology. The alliance also envisions student and faculty exchanges, joint educational programs, and practical implementation of innovative solutions.

Additionally, 17 documents were signed between Italy and Uzbekistan in the field of agricultural education, reflecting active expansion of scientific and educational cooperation.

The creation of the alliance marks a new chapter in the integration of universities and research centers and establishes a platform for the sustainable development of the region.
