Representatives of the European Union and Central Asian states participated in the work of the meeting.
Jahon news agency reported that the delegation of Uzbekistan included representatives of National information-analytical center on drug control under the Cabinet of Ministersof Uzbekistan, Ministry of Interior Affairs, Ministry of Healthcare, diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan at the European Union.
The participants received information on measures adopted in Uzbekistan to fight illegal drug turnover and drug addiction.
Uzbekistan actively works on implementation of complex of measures on revealing and preventing illegal drug turnover, developing inter-departmental and international cooperation in this area.
It was underlined that exchanging of information and experience, as well as strengthening of partnership between Central Asia and European Union are important issues of fighting threats and challenges.
Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Patricia Flor said that newly developed action plan “EU – Central Asia” on fighting drug trafficking for 2014-2020 will become document, which will determine tasks in this area. The document includes proposals and recommendations of the representatives of the region.
At the end of the meeting, the joint communiqué was been adopted, which expressed intention of the sides to develop mutual beneficial cooperation in fighting drug trafficking.
