ESG Rating of State Enterprise “Navoiyuran” Upgraded by Sustainable Fitch

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The state enterprise “Navoiyuran” (Uzbekistan) announced that the international rating agency Sustainable Fitch has confirmed the company’s ESG rating at level “3” and increased its overall ESG score from 55 to 61. The agency’s report noted that this result reflects the enterprise’s systematic approach to sustainable development and strengthened corporate governance.

According to Sustainable Fitch, the positive trend is driven by consistent ESG transformation, expanded data disclosure policies, and the implementation of long-term environmental and social responsibility strategies. The agency also highlighted the company’s strong corporate structure, with a clear separation of powers between the supervisory board and management, ensuring transparency and accountability.

In the environmental category, the rating was supported by a comprehensive strategy to reduce environmental impact, the absence of recorded ecological incidents in recent years, and transparency in reporting on key indicators. Sustainable Fitch additionally noted that the natural uranium produced by the enterprise is used in nuclear energy, where electricity generation occurs without greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to global climate goals.

The social component of the assessment was strengthened by adherence to human rights and labor standards, high working conditions, and the absence of social incidents over the past three years. The agency also highlighted measures to ensure gender equality, including an increase in the number of women in managerial positions.

From a corporate governance perspective, the rating was supported by compliance with international standards, transparency of key processes, and an institutionalized balance of management powers.

The company stated that the updated assessment reinforces its position as a reliable uranium supplier and confirms its commitment to responsible management and sustainable development principles.
