Epidemic Situation for Influenza and ARIs in Uzbekistan Remains Stable, Reports Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Uzbekistan, the incidence of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) remains 36.5% below the epidemic threshold, calculated based on the long-term average annual level, according to the Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee.
Despite this, due to significant seasonal increases in ARIs in Russia and neighboring countries, there remains a risk of importation and spread of infections via air travel, labor migration, and official business trips.
The epidemiological situation in the country is under constant monitoring. Virological studies are conducted to detect the circulation of influenza viruses and other ARIs. Diagnosis of influenza and flu-like illnesses is carried out in 15 virological laboratories under the jurisdiction of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee.
Analysis of incidence by age group shows that the highest rates of illness are observed among children aged 0–1 year.
Currently, the epidemic situation for influenza and ARIs in Uzbekistan is stable and under control, according to the Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee.
