Environmental Plogging Campaign Held to Celebrate 30 Years of Cooperation with Asian Development Bank
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of celebrations marking 30 years of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy organized an environmental plogging campaign. More than 50 industry employees participated in the event.
During the campaign, the area along Tashkent Sea was cleaned, with over 300 kg of waste collected and subsequently disposed of using specialized equipment.
The event was part of the “International Coastal Cleanup Week,” one of the world’s largest initiatives aimed at protecting and cleaning water bodies.
In addition, participants attended a practical seminar to share experiences and discuss new ideas and innovative solutions in ecology, green economy, and sustainable development.
The ADB comprises 69 member countries, and cooperation with Uzbekistan began in 1996. Since then, 117 joint projects have been implemented, incorporating environmental standards, gender equality principles, and the concept of a “green economy.” This underscores the sustainability of bilateral cooperation and shared development goals, according to the agency’s press service.
