Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 17 to 23 November, a delegation of approximately 100 Uzbek entrepreneurs, led by the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, conducted a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

On 18 November, a business meeting was held in Kabul within the framework of the “Imam Abu Hanifa — 4th National and International Exhibition and Trade Fair,” bringing together private sector representatives from Afghanistan and foreign countries.

The event was attended by around 130 Afghan entrepreneurs, 80 Uzbek, 30 Iranian, more than 20 Indian, and 10 Turkmen participants.

During the meeting, participants discussed cooperation in the food industry, construction, pharmaceuticals, textiles, logistics, energy, and household appliances.

Negotiations were conducted in a B2B format, focusing on expanding trade relations, developing joint projects, promoting investment initiatives, and increasing export potential in the Afghan market.

The opening ceremony of the business partner search conference was attended by Afghanistan’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Nuriddin Azizi, as well as heads of chambers of commerce from several countries.

As a result of the meetings, Uzbek entrepreneurs concluded preliminary agreements totaling US$36.05 million.

Additionally, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Trade and Investment Chamber of Afghanistan signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for the establishment of “Trade Houses” in both countries and the opening of chamber representative offices.

Business meetings and negotiations within the exhibition framework continue, aimed at further strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
