Enterprises of Uzavtosanoat to implement projects for US$291 million in 2018-2021
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Enterprises Uzavtosanoat plan to implement 10 investment projects worth US$290.9 million from 2018 to 2021, it was reported at the fourth meeting of a single site of investment proposals.
At the same time, US$227.8 million will be allocated to implement the projects in the approved investment program.
According to Uzavtosanoat, US$65.1 million is planned to be spent on development of new models of cars and US$110.7 million – for development of new models of commercial vehicles.
Enterprises will direct US$45.7 million for development of component parts and US$6.2 million for modernization of existing production facilities.
Since the beginning of automobile industry, more than US$2.7 billion has been invested to implement joint investment projects.
The enterprises, such as GM Uzbekistan, SamAuto, JV MAN Auto - Uzbekistan, General Motors Powertrain Uzbekistan, formed in cooperation with the leading companies of the world, produce passenger cars, trucks, buses, special equipment, engines, a wide range of components and spare parts.
In 2017, GM Uzbekistan produced 140,247 cars, a growth rate made up 59% compared to 2016. At the Samarkand Automobile Plant, 3,600 trucks and buses were produced, the growth rate was 5.5%. In 2017, JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV LLC produced 1200 trucks and buses.
