Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan with the support of ERIELL Group and in cooperation with the publishing house Dinara & Co. released a children’s book about energy conservation through the story of Leo the lion cub and his family.
The first books entitled "Super Leo" were received by 250 preschoolers at a festive meeting on June 1, International Children’s Day, at kindergarten №74 "Sevinch" in Tashkent. The project is aimed at increasing the knowledge of preschool and primary school children about natural energy resources and minerals. The heroes of the fairy tale themselves - Leo the lion cub and his caring dad Leo presented their energy-saving stories to the children.
“Today was a special day for us. It is a great happiness to create something and leave it behind. And this happiness is doubly - to share this with children. As we hand over the books, we saw joy in the eyes of the children. These projects are just a few things that we can do not only for children, but also for the planet. After all, it is energy saving that is now the main locomotive of the development of the energy industry,” said the Adviser to the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, press secretary of the ministry, Sabina Bekmuradova.
The authors of the book and illustrators were inspired by the idea of creating a cognitive fairy tale for children, because it is important to foster a careful attitude to natural resources from childhood. Environmental education for preschoolers is about fostering in children the ability to understand, respect and protect nature and the environment, as well as an initial explanation of concepts such as energy and resource efficiency in the face of climate change.
The tale shows the story of the transformation of a little lion cub into a real superhero by acquiring useful knowledge. For Leo, like many children, it was important to know how to become a superhero and learn how to save the planet. But he did not even suspect that the state of the planet also depends on how energy is spent, including electricity in his home.
“It’s always nice to watch children, because they are so curious. So our main character, Leo the lion cub, wants to learn a lot in order to become a real protector of the Earth. One of the main messages in the book is that you need to start with yourself in order to change the world. Hopefully, with the help of this story, children will be able to develop healthy habits to conserve energy and respect nature. And we, in turn, will continue to write interesting educational books,” said the author of the fairy tale Madina Muminova.
