Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Among 65 patients infected with coronavirus in Uzbekistan, there are 11 doctors. All of them are employees of the Virology Research Institute and became infected during the treatment of patients, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at a video conference on Thursday.

“Therefore, recognizing their huge contribution to the protection of the life and health of citizens, their dedication, I signed a separate resolution on additional social and material support for medical workers, employees of the sanitary-epidemiological and other services involved in countering the spread of coronavirus infection” he said in his speech.

Doctors in direct contact with coronavirus infected will receive 20 million soums each month, nurses and laboratory assistants 15 million soums each, sanitary workers 10 million soums each, and the rest personnel 5 million soums each.

Special payments are made during the quarantine period, including for March of the current year, at the end of each 14-day period of the employee’s activity.

In addition, as part of the fight against coronavirus infection, 100 million soums will be paid to employees of the medical, sanitary-epidemiological and other services infected with coronavirus infection when working with patients;

- as part of the fight against coronavirus infection, in the event of a serious condition as a result of infection with the coronavirus during work, as well as in case of non-recovery of health, workers of medical, sanitary and epidemiological and other services or other members of their families will be paid a lump sum of 250 million soums.

These payments are made in addition to the payments stipulated by law, collective and labor contracts and other local documents in case of injury to the employee’s health or his death.
