Electricity prices in near future not to grow

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The information recently released by the Ministry of Energy on long-term tariff policy noted that public-private partnerships that are being developed today will have a positive impact on the cost of electricity. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

Public-private partnership is a new and promising direction for the electric power industry of Uzbekistan. As the first steps in this direction have shown, the leading international companies wishing to build and manage private power plants in our country put lower power tariffs in their design proposals as compared to those that operate today at state-owned power plants.

This suggests that, along with other measures taken, public-private partnerships will ensure a reduction in the cost of electricity and, as a result, a favorable tariff policy in the medium and long term.

It was the explanation of these innovations that could favorably influence the tariff policy for years to come that the previous information of the Ministry of Energy from the “Questions and Answers” cycle, which reveals the essence of PPP in the electric power industry, was devoted.

Moreover, in the near future an increase in electricity prices is not planned.
