Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 June 2020, at the Takhiatash Thermal Power Plant (TPP), the second modern combined-cycle plant (CCGT) with a capacity of 280 MW was combined launched.

Its commissioning will help to cover the demand for electricity in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and in Khorezm region. This was reported by the press service of Thermal Power Plants JSC.

The construction of two modern combined cycle plants at the Takhiatash TPP is provided for by a resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 11 September 2017.

This major investment project is being implemented by a consortium of Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd and Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd ".
