Electric Car Catches Fire in Tashkent’s Yashnabad District

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 March at 21:57, Tashkent’s fire and rescue service received a report of an electric vehicle catching fire on Sultonali Mashhadi Street in the Yashnabad district. The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported the incident.

Firefighting and rescue equipment arrived at the scene at 22:03. Fire and rescue units arrived at the scene at 22:03. The fire was fully extinguished by 23:37. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

MES officials reminded that electric vehicle batteries store a significant amount of energy. According to international practice, extinguishing fires in such batteries is carried out until the internal charge is fully depleted, making the firefighting procedures for electric vehicles different from those used for conventional fuel-powered cars.
