Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On approval of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
This Code defines the procedure for the preparation and conduct of the election of the President, deputies of the Legislative Chamber, members of the Senate, deputies of local Kengashes.
Previously, the procedure for holding these elections was regulated by separate legislative acts.
Every citizen participating in elections has one vote, the press service of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reports.
Voting is free and secret. Control over the will of voters is not allowed.
The preparation and conduct of elections is carried out openly and publicly.
The Electoral Code determines the procedure for the formation of electoral districts and precincts, the organization of activities of election commissions.
According to him, for the election of deputies of the Legislative Chamber formed one hundred and fifty territorial election districts.
Previously, 135 districts were formed and 15 deputies were elected from the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan.
Due to the fact that the Environmental Party of Uzbekistan has been created, this party may take a place in the Legislative Chamber with the nomination of its candidates for general elections.
Now a unified electronic voter list will be formed.
In accordance with it, voters will be able to obtain the necessary information about the voter lists on the official website of the Central Election Commission.
The Code reflects the requirements for the equipment of the premises in which the precinct election commissions are located.
In particular, in buildings where election commissions are located, there must be a map of the polling station, necessary furniture, office equipment (telephone, printer, at least two computers connected to the world information network Internet, and having access to the information system for managing the electoral process, safe, stationery).
Voting is held on election day from 08.00 to 20.00. Previously held from 06:00 to 20:00.
