Eldor Shomurodov Close to Joining Başakşehir
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov is close to joining Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir on a loan deal. According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the loan is valued at €3 million, with an option to buy set at €2.7 million.
Shomurodov joined Italian side AS Roma in the summer of 2021, signing a contract that runs until 2026. During his time in Italy, he also played for Genoa, Spezia, and Cagliari. Prior to his move to Europe, the forward represented FC Rostov in Russia, as well as Uzbek clubs Bunyodkor and Mash’al.
In the 2024/2025 Serie A season, Shomurodov made 27 appearances, scoring four goals and providing four assists. He also featured in eight UEFA Europa League matches, netting twice and contributing one assist.
