Eldor Aripov Spoke at the U.S. Congress
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 September 2025, as part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States, a presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” was held at the Rayburn House Office Building, one of the largest and most significant office complexes of the U.S. Congress, the ISRS reported on its website.
The event was attended by over 70 participants, including representatives of the U.S. Congress, the White House, the Department of State, key U.S. ministries and agencies, leading companies and business associations, as well as experts and journalists.
The official part of the event was opened by Furkat Sidikov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States, and Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS), also delivered a presentation.
The Director of ISRS presented a detailed overview of the book, authored by prominent political scientist, senator, and Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Kudratilla Rafikov. He emphasized that the work outlines the key stages and directions of the reforms initiated and implemented by Shavkat Mirziyoyev over the past eight years, as well as their impact on the country's economic, social, and political development.
“We have gathered for a special occasion – to present a book that reflects the profound changes taking place in Uzbekistan and across the entire Central Asian region. This is not merely a publication about reforms or a Leader who managed to initiate and carry out large-scale transformations in a short period of time. This book is a testament to a new era that Uzbekistan is entering,” noted the ISRS Director
The expert described the book not merely as a chronicle of reforms, but as a symbol of the emergence of the New Uzbekistan – a stable, dynamically developing, and self-confident country that today serves as a donor of stability and a driving force for consolidation in Central Asia.
Eldor Aripov expressed hope that the reflections presented in the publication would serve as a catalyst for broader discussions on how national transformations can strengthen international solidarity and contribute to building a better future for all.
As part of the presentation, substantive discussions also took place among the participants, during which representatives of American government agencies, business, and expert communities exchanged views on the significance of the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as on the prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation.
Overall, the presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev”, held at the U.S. Congress building, served as an important platform for discussing the transformations initiated by the President of Uzbekistan and attracted wide interest among both political and expert circles. The event symbolized recognition of the achievements made under his leadership in the country’s modernization and openness, as well as a vivid testament to the further deepening of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States of America.
