Eldor Aripov Presented Uzbekistan’s Transformations at the UN
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 September, as part of the visit of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s delegation to the United States, a presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: The Path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, according to the ISMI website.
The event was attended by around 100 participants, including UN leadership, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives from analytical circles, civil society, and the media.
During the presentation, attention was focused on the key directions and stages of development in the New Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that the reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev represent a long-term, carefully planned strategy aimed at the systemic and comprehensive renewal of all spheres of state and social life.
ISMI Director Eldor Aripov delivered a report on the practical implementation of this strategy. He noted that “modern Uzbekistan is defined not by what it was ten years ago, but by what is being created today — functioning institutions, borders open to trade and contacts, broad access to education, targeted support for socially vulnerable citizens, and the strengthening of women’s role in society.”
Aripov emphasized that “the changes in Uzbekistan have given a powerful impetus to the transformation of the entire Central Asian region. An open and dynamically developing Uzbekistan is becoming a key driver of dialogue and partnership in the region.”
At the same time, he stated that the country’s active foreign policy is not limited to regional initiatives. Uzbekistan seeks to make a constructive contribution to the work of the UN, promote peace and sustainable development, and support the reform of the global governance system aimed at enhancing fairness, efficiency, and inclusivity.
Through this approach, Uzbekistan has established itself as a reliable international partner, sharing the principles of cooperation, dialogue, and collective responsibility.
During the presentation, substantive discussions were held, in which UN leadership and heads of diplomatic missions acknowledged that the national reform agenda aligns with the goals and objectives of the UN. The political course of the President of Uzbekistan corresponds closely with the Organization’s priorities — protecting human rights, promoting the rule of law, supporting sustainable development, and expanding citizen participation in decision-making processes.
In his speech, UN Assistant Secretary-General M. Yencha highlighted that the reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev represent “an example of transformation that combines political courage, strategic foresight, and social orientation.” He noted the uniqueness of the Uzbek experience, characterized by its systemic approach: “Changes are being implemented simultaneously across all key sectors — from governance and justice to education, healthcare, and digitalization.”
Overall, the event confirmed that Uzbekistan’s reforms enjoy wide recognition and strong support from the international community.
