Eldor Aripov Holds Meetings with Leading Qatari Analysts at Doha Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —

From December 6 to 8, Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISMI), participated in the annual Doha Forum, where he held a series of bilateral meetings with leading Qatari think tanks and development funds.

During the forum, Aripov met with representatives of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an advisor to the Prime Minister, and heads of the Center for International Policy Studies, the Global Institute for Strategic Studies, the Saudi Center for Gulf Studies, as well as members of the Qatar Development Fund. Discussions focused on bilateral and regional issues, including prospects for trade and economic cooperation, investments in energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and high technologies, as well as implementation of transport initiatives such as the Trans-Afghan Corridor.

Particular attention was given to strengthening interregional cooperation between Central Asia and the Gulf countries. The parties noted that investments from Arab countries in the region have grown by almost a third over the past decade, while exports have increased by more than 30%. The meetings also addressed deepening ISMI’s cooperation with Qatari analytical institutions and developing expert dialogue to produce joint strategic recommendations.

The Doha Forum, held annually since 2002 with support from the Qatari government, attracted around 8,000 participants from 150 countries in 2025, including representatives from leading think tanks in the U.S., EU, Russia, India, China, and other nations. High-profile attendees included the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump Jr.
