Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The eighteenth session of the Tashkent city Kengash of people’s deputies was held on 19 August. First of all, the session considered the reports of the heads of the sectors of the city of Tashkent on the work done on the socio-economic development of the capital in the context of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and the main results in this area that are planned to be achieved.
It was noted that out of more than 35,000 families who lost their source of income due to quarantine and in need of social protection, 22,377 people from 19,001 families were provided with work. Also, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 346-r, it was planned to allocate 25 billion soums to 20,841 families in our city, in fact, material assistance in the amount of 28 billion 99 million soums was provided to 26,164 families.
At the session, in connection with the mitigation of quarantine measures, an appeal was heard to the population of the acting head of the Main Department of Health of the city of Tashkent, dedicated to the need for each resident to strictly comply with sanitary requirements and adhere to a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition, as well as issues timely and high-quality provision of primary health care to the population. It was reported that there is a shortage of general practitioners, anesthesiologists and resuscitators, phthisiologists, radiologists, pediatricians, school doctors, laboratory doctors, nephrologists, and hemodialysis doctors in the system. They also noted the importance of creating conditions conducive to the organization of an automated and centralized system for the provision of medical services.
In accordance with the agenda, attention was also paid to the implementation of investment projects in the first half of 2020 in the city of Tashkent. It was noted that in the first 6 months of this year - within the framework of 741 active projects - 1 billion 668 million dollars (100.5%), 855 million dollars were spent. (89.3%) of which - foreign direct investment.
Other economic indicators are also interesting, for example, the share of exports in 2020 in the capital was planned at the amount of US$710.5 million, specifically in the first half of the year - in the amount of US$314.9 million, and the actual figure is even higher and is US$317.1 million, 0.7 percent.
The session also reviewed reports on the implementation of the State Program "Year of Science, Education and the Digital Economy" in the II quarter of 2020, and the work being carried out to prepare for the autumn-winter season 2020-2021.
In addition, the deputies got acquainted with the execution of the local budget of Tashkent in the II quarter of 2020 and the work done in the first half of the year to create new jobs and ensure employment of the population.
Considering the readiness of educational institutions in Tashkent for the 2020-2021 academic year, the head of the Main Directorate of Public Education of Tashkent Avaz Mamadjanov said that repair and construction work was underway at 67 facilities until the new academic year began. He also noted that in order to start the 2020-2021 academic year in the context of a pandemic, 210 teachers are already filming lessons under the heading "online school", preparations are underway for other filming.
Finally, at the meeting, a report was heard on the activities to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs of the Reception of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan for consideration of appeals of entrepreneurs in the city of Tashkent in the II quarter of 2020, as well as candidates for the post of head of the department of internal affairs in Bektemir, Mirabad and Mirzo-Ulugbek districts were approved.
