Eight Uzbek Logistics Centers Granted UN “Dry Port” Status

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The sixth session of the Working Group on the implementation of the “Intergovernmental Agreement on Dry Ports,” held by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok, announced significant progress for Uzbekistan.

Following the session, it was officially confirmed that eight logistics centers of Uztemiryulcontainer JSC — Jizzakh, Kokand, Margilan, Rauvatan, Ulugbek, Termez, Bukhara, and Nukus — fully meet the international criteria for being granted “Dry Port” status under the UN classification.

The inclusion of these facilities in the international list strengthens Uzbekistan’s position within the global transport system, enhances its role as a key hub for regional cargo flows, and expands the country’s transit and logistics potential.

The recognition of these logistics centers as dry ports signifies that they operate in full compliance with international standards, providing multimodal transport organization, customs clearance, terminal and forwarding services, container handling, the use of modern information technologies, and high operational throughput.
