Eight Medical Universities in Uzbekistan Receive International Accreditation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Uzbekistan’s medical education system has achieved significant progress, demonstrating new positive trends, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan reports.
As part of reforms in medical personnel training, three higher education institutions were consolidated into the Tashkent State Medical University, while the Urgench State Medical Institute continues its operations.
A notable achievement is the Samarkand State Medical University, which became the first medical university in the country to enter the prestigious THE international ranking. This year, the educational programs of eight medical universities in Uzbekistan received international accreditation, confirming the high quality of specialist training.
In cooperation with the Bukhara State Medical Institute and Webster University, a bachelor’s program in Advanced Nursing (“Высшее сестринское дело”) has been implemented under a 3+1 scheme.
The Fergana Institute of Public Health, together with Gulf University (UAE), offers bachelor’s programs in “Associate Degree in Preclinical Sciences” and a master’s “Doctor of Medicine” under a 3+3 scheme. An agreement has also been signed with Franklin University (USA) for training specialists in higher nursing education.
Based on German experience, international educational programs in Nursing (code 50910203) have been developed using curricula from the German Medical Academy. These programs, approved by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education together with the Ministry of Health and Globogate Concept AG, include five modules of the German Medical Academy and German language training at B2 level according to the requirements of German employers.
Since the beginning of the year, around 300 specialists have undergone advanced training in leading countries, including the USA, Russia, China, Germany, France, Turkey, South Korea, India, Azerbaijan, and Belarus, further strengthening the international standard of medical personnel training in Uzbekistan.
