EGL-NUR starts work in SIZ Angren

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- EGL-NUR, an Uzbek-Korean joint venture, started its work in territory of special industrial zone “Angren”, Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported.

The enterprise specializes on production of LED-lamps for street lightening. The volume of investment to the project made up US$1 million.

EGL-NUR has been founded by South Korea’s EG Lightings Co. Ltd and Uzbekistan’s Novo-Angren thermal power station. Share of the Korean side in the venture is 51% and the Uzbek side – 49%.

The project cost is US$1 million. EG Lightings Co. Ltd will invest US$510,000 to the project and Novo-Angren thermal power station – US$490,000.

The plant will produce lamps with the capacity from 120 to 175 watts. They will be used as an alternative to currently used lamps with the capacity of 500-600 watts.

LED lamps are protected from external influences, virtually they do not heat, equipped with a voltage regulator. The lamps will allow to save energy.

The project capacity of the venture is 4,000 lamps a months. It is expected that the venture will launch its designed capacity in its third year of operation.

Angren special industrial zone was created on 13 April 2012 in line with the presidential decree in Tashkent region. The zone will function for 30 years.

During operation of the special industrial zone, special tax regime and customs preferences will be applied in its territory. Administrative council of SIZ Angren will provide status of participant of the special industrial zone.
