Economy of Syrdarya region grows by 12.1%

The volume of gross regional product (GRP) of Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan grew by 12.1% year-on-year in January-June 2012.
The growth of industrial output reached 9.6%, agriculture production – 6.5%, construction works – 8.1% and services – 12.4%.
Share of small and private businesses in the gross regional product made up 63% and in industry – 34.6% in the reporting period, UzA said.
The region created some 20,670 new jobs in six months of 2012.
