EBRD Allocates US$10M for Texnomart Development in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is expanding its partnership with Texnomart, a leading Uzbek electronics and household appliances retail chain. Under a new financing program, the bank is providing US$10 million (8.6 million euros) to modernize the company’s retail infrastructure and digital services.
The funds will be used to acquire modern equipment, upgrade IT infrastructure, and expand the product range. The project also emphasizes human capital development through internal staff training programs, educational initiatives, and internships supported by local educational institutions.
Technical assistance for the project is provided by the Japan-Europe Cooperation Fund. To date, the EBRD has invested nearly US$6.9 billion in Uzbekistan across 208 projects, primarily supporting private enterprises. Over the past six years, Uzbekistan has been the bank’s largest recipient of financing in Central Asia.
The Texnomart project is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer service, and advance business digitalization, strengthening the company’s position in the market.
