EBRD Allocates €10 Million for Copper Pipe Production in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a loan of up to €10 million to MaxCopper, a new copper pipe manufacturer in Uzbekistan, to finance working capital for the establishment and scaling of its production operations.

According to the bank, the funds will also be used to purchase raw materials, including copper cathodes.

MaxCopper will produce copper pipes and fittings, primarily for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) sectors.

The production program includes the manufacture of various products: light coils, straight pipes, and “pancake” coils, with plans to export the majority of output to European and neighboring markets.

The project will establish a modern copper pipe manufacturing facility in Uzbekistan, representing an important step in diversifying the country’s industrial base.

As a new private enterprise, MaxCopper will implement modern production technologies and adhere to international quality standards in the sector.

To date, the EBRD has invested €5.57 billion in Uzbekistan across 193 projects, with the majority of funds directed toward supporting private enterprises and promoting the country’s economic development.
