Earthquake in Kyrgyzstan Felt Across Several Regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 August at 18:44, an earthquake struck Kyrgyzstan and was felt in several regions of Uzbekistan, the Republican Center for Seismological Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the agency, the tremors at the epicenter reached a magnitude of 6 on the MSK-64 intensity scale. The quake registered a magnitude of 5.2 with a focal depth of 15 kilometers.

The epicenter was located in Kyrgyzstan’s Jalal-Abad region, about 292 kilometers northeast of Tashkent.

In Uzbekistan, the earthquake was felt with varying intensity:
— in Andijan region, 3–4 points (68 km from the epicenter),
— in Namangan region, 3 points (96 km),
— in Ferghana region, 2–3 points (131 km),
— in Tashkent, 2 points.
