Earthquake in Afghanistan shakes Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An earthquake with epicenter in Afghanistan was registered in Uzbekistan at 15:41 on Wednesday, 9 May 2018.

According to the data of the European-Mediterranean Seismology Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan. The magnitude at the epicenter was 6.2.

The epicenter was located about 546 km away from Tashkent in southern-eastern direction in Hindu Kush mountains (Afghanistan).

Power of underground tremors in Tashkent, Namangan, Andijan, Ferghana, Gulistan, Jizzakh Samarkand and Qarshi was 3 points, Tashkent seismic station said. The power of tremors in Termiz was 4 points.
