Earthquake Felt in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, on 20 February 2026, at 18:09:58 local time, an earthquake occurred in Afghanistan with a magnitude of 6 and a depth of 76 km.
The epicenter was recorded in Baghlan Province (coordinates 35.8° N, 69.37° E). The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent is 608 km to the southeast.
Seismic activity was felt in Uzbekistan in Surkhandarya Region with an intensity of 2–3 on the local scale at 246 km from the epicenter, and in Kashkadarya Region with an intensity of 2 at 464 km distance.
No information on casualties or damage has been reported.
