Earthquake felt in eastern Uzbekistan, epicenter located in Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An earthquake was recorded on the territory of Uzbekistan on the evening of 14 April, according to the Seismic Forecasting Monitoring Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The seismic event occurred at 22:11 local time. The epicenter was located in the city of Osh, Kyrgyz Republic. The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.8 and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. The tremors at the epicenter reached a strength of 4 points on the MSK-64 scale.

The distance from the epicenter to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, was 312 kilometers to the southeast.

In Uzbekistan, the seismic activity was felt as follows: in the Khojaabad, Kurgantepa, and Jalalkuduk districts, tremors reached 3 points; in the Bulakbashi and Khanabad districts — between 2 and 3 points; and in the Markhamat, Andijan, and Asaka districts, as well as in the city of Andijan and Pakhtabad district, the tremors were around 2 points.
