Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the Republic of Uzbekistan and ensure sanitary and epidemiological peace in educational institutions, additional vacations were announced for students of general education institutions starting from 16 March 2020.

In order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set by the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 3 May 2019 No. PP-4306 “On measures to organize a continuous system for identifying gifted youth and training highly qualified personnel”, the “Information system for applying for an online olympiad and forming a database of gifted students - olympiad.uzedu.uz has been launched.

Starting from 24 March 2020, for the first time in the country, an online Olympiad will be organized in 5 subjects - mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and information technology - for students in grades 4-11 of secondary schools, academic lyceums and professional colleges.

In the online Olympiad, students participate voluntarily, remotely. Participation in the Olympiad is absolutely free, for participation, students must register online on the website of the Ministry of Public Education olympiad.uzedu.uz and receive an electronic confirmation from the responsible employee of the educational institution. Students must register in the information system no later than one day before the start of the Olympiad.

Tasks for the online Olympiad consist of 20 test questions of various difficulty levels, each of which takes 60 minutes. At the end of the allotted time, students can view their ratings and download certificates of participation in the Olympiad from the electronic system.
