Driver Detained in Navoiy Region for Transporting 23 Children in a Damas Vehicle

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement authorities in Navoiy Region detained the driver of a Damas vehicle that was carrying more than twenty children, according to the regional police press service.

The incident occurred on 15 September in Navbahor District. The vehicle was stopped by police, revealing that 23 preschool-aged children and two caregivers were inside. An inspection showed that the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid license and under the influence of alcohol.

The detained driver stated that his own child was among the children in the vehicle. Appropriate measures have been taken against the driver, and the vehicle was impounded.
