Dr. Novick and International Team Provide Assistance to Children in Namangan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Namangan, an international medical project in pediatric cardiac surgery was carried out at the branch of the Republican Specialized Cardiological Scientific and Practical Center in cooperation with the American organizations William Novick Global Cardiac Alliance and Sterling Foundation.

Dr. William Novick has been providing assistance to children with cardiovascular diseases since 1993. Between 1994 and 2014, he founded two non-governmental, non-profit organizations, and today the registered U.S. charity operates under the name William Novick Global Cardiac Alliance (Novick Cardiac Alliance, NCA).

Within the program in Namangan, 20 high-tech surgical operations were performed, over 300 patients received consultations, practical masterclasses and a scientific-practical conference were organized, and international experience was exchanged.

The event brought together 15 specialists from six countries — the United States, Serbia, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine, and Morocco — as well as representatives of the Republican Children’s Medical Center.

Today, the governor of Namangan Region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov, met with the program participants, led by Dr. Novick.

During the discussion, the parties addressed the prospects for developing pediatric cardiac surgery services in the region, training local specialists according to international standards, implementing advanced treatment technologies, and establishing high-quality specialized care for children with heart defects.
