Document on the creation of a specialized engineering center for nuclear energy signed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An agreement was signed between Uzatom Agency and Intecsea BV Worley (Netherlands).
The document was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, General Director of the Agency “Uzatom”, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, and President of the Worley for Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Saudi Arabia, Alan Gordon.
The agreement envisages the creation of a specialized engineering center for nuclear energy “Uzatominjiniring” in the form of a limited liability company, which will be a specialized design and engineering organization in the field of nuclear energy.
“We are proud to have expanded our already extensive commitment to Uzbekistan and are cooperating with the Uzatom Agency on such an important project,” Andrew Wood, executive director of Worley, said.
The main tasks and directions of Uzatominjiniring are the development of engineering and project management functions, namely, the development of of tender documentation, technical tasks and regulatory documents within the framework of the project, the technical examination of project documentation and technical solutions in the field of nuclear energy, participation in the development of regulatory documents in the field of the use of atomic energy, nuclear and radiation safety also, close cooperation with scientific, technical and expert councils of basic sectors of the economy in terms of the development and approval of design and working documentation.
To accomplish the above objectives, Worley undertakes to use the opportunity provided by this level of authority to develop national nuclear potential by guiding and providing resources to attract and hire national and foreign personnel to staff the Uzatominjiniring Center with personnel, ensure that local talented personnel will be to gain experience in the course of the project implementation under the guidance of foreign specialists, to ensure the training of specialists in nuclear engineering the use of design tools; the promotion of the use and development of norms and standards for engineering services; and the development of project implementation skills, including project management, project monitoring, planning, and the use of appropriate tools.
