“Do Business in Syrdarya” Forum Held in Kuala Lumpur with Participation of Uzbek and Malaysian Companies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the “Do Business in Syrdarya” forum was held to promote bilateral economic cooperation between the Syrdarya region and the Malaysian business community, according to Dunyo news agency.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Hokim of Syrdarya Region, Erkinjon Turdimov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, Karomiddin Gadoev, and the Deputy Chairman of the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Jai Shankar.

The forum brought together representatives of the Uzbek–Malaysian Business Alliance, the Malaysian Consortium of Medium Capitalization Companies (MCMTC), the Malaysia Tourism Agency, SMITA Global Malaysia, and the International Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia.

Leading Malaysian companies, including Spora Global, BasisBay, JAKEL Holding, MIMOS Berhad, Malaysian Vaccines & Pharmaceuticals, Sparco Engineering, Marrybrown, Tesomac, and Five Petroleum Malaysia, participated, along with entrepreneurs and business leaders from the Syrdarya region.

In his remarks, Jai Shankar highlighted Uzbekistan’s dynamic economic growth and noted that Syrdarya’s advantageous geographic location makes it an attractive regional hub for Malaysian companies. He emphasized that the region offers favorable conditions and incentives not only for trade but also for establishing joint manufacturing enterprises.

During the forum, several cooperation agreements were signed between Malaysian companies and Syrdarya entrepreneurs. The practical part of the event featured active B2B negotiations aimed at establishing direct contacts and developing joint projects.

Participants praised the high level of organization of the forum and its significance as a platform for expanding bilateral economic cooperation. Syrdarya was recognized as the most convenient and promising region for entering the Central Asian market, and the forum helped elevate business interaction to a new level.
