Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for human rights has been submitted for re-discussion, the National Center for Human Rights reports.

Previously, the project was discussed in the framework of national consultations held on 28 February 2020. The discussions resulted in comments and suggestions from the UN Resident Coordinator and UN agencies in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Regional Office of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for Central Asia, and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

Representatives of civil society, government agencies and the diplomatic corps also presented their project proposals during the National Consultations.

The project was finalized taking into account these suggestions and comments.

Currently, the project has been submitted for re-discussion with a view to further improvement.
