Director of Uzbekistan’s Pharmaceutical Development Agency Discusses Industry Standards and Reforms with USP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Ronald Piervincenzi, President and Chief Executive Officer of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

USP is a respected international organization with over 200 years of history, establishing global standards for medicines, bioproducts, and dietary supplements. Its standards are applied in more than 150 countries and are recognized as a reliable benchmark in the global pharmaceutical industry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the reforms implemented in recent years in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector and the results achieved. USP leadership highly praised the positive changes in the industry and expressed interest in further cooperation.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to expand joint efforts, including providing technical assistance and developing key areas of the sector. The parties also agreed on the involvement of leading pharmaceutical universities in Uzbekistan, integration of the country’s highly qualified specialists into the USP system, and enhancement of their international expertise.
