Director of SCO RATS holds talks with British envoy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Zhang Xinfeng, Director of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Uzbekistan Christopher George Edgar on 24 September 2014.
During the meeting, the sides considered separate issues of security in Central Asian region, perspectives of development of situation in context of withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) from Afghanistan.
The sides also discussed problems related to activities of international terrorism groups, including Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, as well as participation of the citizens of the SCO member states and Great Britain in terrorism groups.
SCO RATS chief briefed British envoy on tasks and activities of the organization, measures adopted to strengthen protection of the SCO members states, etc.
