Dinara Safina Holds Masterclass for Young Tennis Players in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An inspiring masterclass featuring renowned Russian tennis player, former world No. 1, and Grand Slam finalist Dinara Safina took place at the Olympic Village in Tashkent.

The event was part of the women’s international tournament ITF W15 Tashkent, held from 20 to 26 October under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan.

Tennis Without Borders: A Meeting of Generations and Inspiration for the Future

The masterclass brought together dozens of young athletes, their coaches, and tennis enthusiasts. Participants had the unique opportunity to train under the guidance of a world tennis legend, ask questions, and receive personal advice.

During the session, Dinara Safina shared insights into technique, mental preparation, and the importance of discipline, emphasizing that success in sport is impossible without passion for the game and constant self-improvement.

After the training, a press conference, photo session, and autograph signing were held, allowing the champion to interact with journalists and young players.

“The main thing is to enjoy every time you step onto the court. It’s not just about winning, but about growing and believing in yourself. I see in the eyes of Uzbek children the same passion I had when I first started playing,” said Dinara Safina.

Women’s Tennis in Focus

The Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan continues to actively promote women’s tennis, creating new opportunities for young female athletes and raising public interest in the sport.

The hosting of the ITF W15 Tashkent tournament and Dinara Safina’s visit marked an important step in advancing women’s tennis and strengthening international sporting cooperation.

The tournament brought together professional players from various countries, serving as a platform for experience exchange and inspiration. Particular attention was drawn to the youngest participant — 15-year-old Alexandra Barmicheva from Uzbekistan. Her participation became a symbol of generational continuity and the growing potential of Uzbek tennis.

Federation’s Statement

“For us, Dinara Safina’s visit is more than just a sporting event — it’s a source of inspiration for a new wave of young female players. We will continue to invite leading international athletes to Uzbekistan so that the younger generation can learn from the best and aspire to the heights of world sport,” the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan stated.
