Dilshod Kuryozov Appointed as Director of Uzbekistan Telecom Agency
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has appointed Dilshod Kuryozov as the director of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency.
Previously, Kuryozov served as deputy head of the Department for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology Development under the Cabinet of Ministers and led the AI Technology Development Unit.
Established in August 2025, the agency functions as the national telecom regulator. It independently monitors the quality of operator and provider services and reports to the Cabinet of Ministers.
The regulator manages licensing and permits for legal entities in telecommunications, oversees infrastructure in emergencies, accredits organizations for project documentation expertise, regulates tariffs, and defines universal service obligations with quality standards.
Additionally, the agency promotes fair competition among operators and providers, protects user rights, develops network numbering systems, and manages the national domain space. It also enforces mandatory digital labeling of telecom devices and monitors unauthorized network access.
