Diana Shtrofova appointed ambassador of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand in Slovakia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Bratislava hosted an event dedicated to strengthening tourism and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Slovakia.

During the event, Diana Shtrofova was officially awarded the certificate confirming her status as ambassador of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand in Slovakia.

Shtrofova previously served as a member of the National Council of Slovakia and as State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. Since 2012, she has been the Director of External Relations at AZC Group.

The ceremony was attended by Slovakia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Vladimir Šimonyák, Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan Ľudovít Černák, CEO of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency Robert Šimončič, and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, in his opening remarks, highlighted Uzbekistan’s achievements in bilateral cooperation with Slovakia and the promising prospects for expanding the partnership.

Robert Spišák underlined that Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for foreign investors and tourists, noting AZC Group’s successful implementation of joint projects with Uzbek partners.

Diana Shtrofova expressed her gratitude for being entrusted with the role and stated her intention to actively promote Uzbekistan in Slovakia and increase the flow of Slovak tourists to the country.

She emphasized the uniqueness of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, the value of cultural heritage, music, and the country’s gastronomy — including the Khorezmian dance “Lazgi” and traditional plov — as elements that define Uzbekistan’s identity.

According to the newly appointed brand ambassador, she aims to present Uzbekistan in Slovakia as a country of beauty and centuries-old history that inspires visitors with its cultural and historical wealth.
