Development of trade in agriculture discussed in Israel
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 23 July 2019 Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Israel Said Rustamov met with the senior deputy director general of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Development for foreign trade, Jacob Poleg, and head of the Plant Protection and Biosafety Inspectorate David Opatowski.
The negotiations discussed the results of the Uzbek-Israeli agrobusiness forum, held in Uzbekistan at the end of May with the participation of more than 15 Israeli agricultural companies, as well as issues of further expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Israel in the agricultural sphere, including strengthening inter-agency cooperation and promoting partnership of business circles of two countries.
Taking into account the leading positions of Israel in the world in introducing innovative solutions to the agricultural sector, contributing to increasing production efficiency, the Israeli side expressed readiness to promote the exchange of experience, training and advanced training of Uzbek specialists, primarily through the use of the potential of the Center for International Cooperation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Development Of Israel - CINADCO.
Ways of further development of bilateral trade in the field of agriculture were separately discussed. Agreements have been reached on the development of additional measures that will help increase the supply of high-quality agricultural products from Uzbekistan to the Israeli market and create favorable conditions for Uzbek exporters.
