Development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic discussed in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 February 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral cooperation, noting separately the positive dynamics of the development of a multi-faceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan voiced interest in organizing the supply of Kyrgyz potatoes, beef meat and other products to the market of Uzbekistan.

Also during the meeting, the state of implementation of joint projects in such areas as engineering, livestock, seed production and others was discussed. In particular, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhirgalbek Sagynbayev, proposed to jointly supply agricultural equipment of joint production to the market of the Russian Federation.

“We are in favor of effectively using the competitive advantages of our countries in the development of the agro-industrial sector of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan,” the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khojaev said.

During the event, negotiations were held between the Kyrgyz delegation and representatives of Uzagrotehsanoat Holding for the supply of agricultural equipment.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to create a joint working group and define plans for 2019.
