Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A meeting was held in Brussels between the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov with the director of the European Neighborhood Council (ENC) analytical center Samuel Dover Westerbier and the senior analyst of the Center Andreas Marazis, Dunyo news agency reported.
Westerbier and A. Marazis are the authors of the review analytical note published on the ENC website on the basis of their participation in monitoring the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan (in December 2019).
It should be noted that ENC, established in 2016 by a group of young European researchers, is an independent analytical center that conducts research and implements projects aimed at strengthening the common European neighborhood policy, improving dialogue and coordination of the neighborhood between the Member States of the European Union, countries joining EU, as well as “neighbors of neighbors”, which include the countries of Central Asia.
During the meeting, it was noted that European experts are ready to cooperate in such areas as modern technologies, renewable energy, freedom of the media, international trade, international political and economic relations, conflict prevention, and features of interaction with the EU.
In this regard, they expressed their readiness to work out the issue of organizing a training program for representatives of Uzbekistan, which will include a series of mutual visits at the expert level, as well as lectures for students and representatives of the public and private sectors of Uzbekistan in the above areas.
Following the talks, an agreement was also reached on the participation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Central Asian week, which will be held in May this year in Brussels.
