Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 October 2019, the First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Islom Jasimov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to the residence in Moscow, Ian Alexander Hill.
The prospects of Uzbek-New Zealand relations in trade, economic and investment were discussed, mutual readiness for a joint search for new directions to raise bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively high level was confirmed.
As emphasized, both parties are equally interested and see real prospects, despite the geographic remoteness of the countries, in building mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment ties, including in the field of agriculture, alternative electricity, and tourism, drawing on the best practices of New Zealand.
The parties also exchanged views on the practical aspects of increasing trade, mechanisms for implementing joint investment projects.
In connection with the completion of the diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan, the Ambassador was grateful for her personal contribution to strengthening ties between our countries.
Ian Alexander Hill, in turn, thanked for the continued support of his activities in Uzbekistan.
