Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee Meets with Turkish Airlines
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 February 2026, Sanjar Tajiev, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, met in Tashkent with Huseyin Guzel, Country Manager of Turkey's national carrier Turkish Airlines.
During the talks, the parties discussed the systemic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan to develop the tourism industry, modernize infrastructure, expand transport and logistics capabilities, and raise the quality of tourism services.
Particular attention was paid to the steady growth in the number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan and the role Turkish Airlines plays in promoting a positive international image of the country.
The two sides discussed joint PR campaigns aimed at raising the profile of Uzbekistan's historical and cultural heritage, as well as its potential in pilgrimage, gastronomic, ecological, and MICE tourism across European and American markets.
Formats such as road shows, workshops, B2B meetings, and media tours for target audiences were also on the agenda.
As a result of the talks, the parties reached an agreement to further deepen their strategic partnership with the aim of developing sustainable tourism, strengthening the country's international image, and implementing joint projects designed to boost the flow of foreign visitors.
