Deputies negatively assessed the work of the livestock industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The head of state in his speech at a joint meeting of the Oliy Majlis emphasized the need to take measures to develop modern livestock breeding complexes, family cooperatives, as well as the introduction of science and technology in animal husbandry, to increase the breeding of thoroughbred cattle by 60 percent.

Despite the fact that work is being done in this direction in the country, no appropriate measures have been taken to improve the forage base and to develop the right diet for feeding livestock.

During the plenary session, a resolution was passed by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on sending a parliamentary request on this issue to B. Norkobilov, chairman of the State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The ongoing reforms in the livestock sector are aimed at meeting the food needs of the population. To this end, measures have been taken to increase the number of cattle in farms and dekhkan farms, as well as the volume of finished meat and dairy products.

Failure to comply with veterinary and sanitary norms and rules when slaughtering animals and selling meat products in the regions affects its quality. Which increases the risk of the spread of diseases among the population.

Due to the fact that no advanced technologies have been introduced in this process, the quality of livestock skins spoils during slaughter, and as a result, the leather and footwear industries suffer losses. On the other hand, this negatively affects the cost of meat products. Today, only a few slaughterhouses in Surkhandarya, Ferghana, Jizzakh and Andijan regions, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan, meet modern requirements.

In this regard, a parliamentary request was sent to the chairman of the State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Norkobilov "On the work being done to provide the regions of the republic with high-quality and affordable livestock products, the creation of specialized enterprises in this industry, and the procurement (processing) of hides and hides."
