Deputies Back Electronic System for Issuing Hunting Permits and Recording Hunting Activity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies considered a bill in its second reading aimed at improving the operation of hunting enterprises.
The bill systematizes procedures for hunting and hunter training, the introduction of advanced technologies in the sector, the preservation and enhancement of biodiversity on hunting grounds, and the development of hunting tourism infrastructure.
The draft introduces amendments and additions to the laws "On the Protection and Use of Wildlife," "On Weapons," and "On Hunting and Hunting Management."
The document sets out provisions designed to increase the transparency of hunting processes. Hunting permits — cards granting the right to catch wild animals — will be issued through a dedicated electronic system, conferring the right to either seasonal or one-time hunting.
The bill supports the practice of releasing captive-bred wild animals onto hunting grounds and permits hunting to be organized with these animals taken into account. This approach allows hunting to take place while simultaneously replenishing wild fauna stocks.
Furthermore, hunting will be conducted exclusively on designated hunting grounds assigned to specific enterprises, which will strengthen oversight and contribute to increasing wildlife populations and preserving natural habitats.
The bill also provides for hunting records to be maintained, and for planning and the designation of permitted areas and seasons to be managed through a unified system.
