Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 26 February 2020, a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. It examined a number of draft laws, important issues.

In particular, the deputies considered the election of the Deputy Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) - the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child.

In accordance with paragraph 16 of the first part of Article 78 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with paragraph 2 of the part of Article 23 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Regulations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, as well as with paragraph 1 of part 5 of Article 5 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) ” Aliya Yunusova was nominated for the post of Deputy Ombudsman - Commissioner for Children’s Rights.

After active discussions, the deputies approved the candidacy of Aliya Yunusova for the post of Deputy Ombudsman - Commissioner for the Rights of the Child.
